That’s why we use financial vehicles — previously available only to the financially elite — to turn conventional wisdom on mortgages and retirement planning on its head. Our top objective is to stop the pillaging being done every day by the banks and the IRS so families of all financial backgrounds can get closer to enjoying a future that’s debt- and stress-free.
Shawn Shea
Founder
A successful business owner himself since the age of 27, Shawn Shea followed his passion for numbers and the thrill of seeing others thrive into a career in the financial services industry. He realized that the methods used by the ultra-wealthy to manage their finances were not common knowledge among average American households, which sparked his mission to democratize these strategies and provide much-needed financial education.
Shawn prides himself on his ability to explain complex financial concepts in a simple, understandable way — a skill that helps him greatly in his role as a founder of Mortgage Free Life. His areas of expertise include wealth building, tax-efficient strategies and debt elimination. Using his passion for math to help clients take control of their financial lives is what brings Shawn the most professional satisfaction.
Shawn has lived for over 20 years in Omaha, Nebraska, where he and his wife, Cassandra, are raising their four children. When he’s not helping clients optimize their finances, he enjoys bass fishing at his top-secret honey hole. His faith and relationship with Christ are at the center of his life, guiding his personal and professional endeavors.
Matt Evans
Founder
Inspired by his mother, a single parent who was the second employee at a financial advisory firm, Matt Evans found his calling in the financial services industry. He admired her strength and dedication, and it’s that same spirit he brings to his work every day.
A 20-plus-year industry veteran, Matt earned a degree in insurance and risk management from Missouri State University and served as a senior vice president of business development at an advisory firm before founding Mortgage Free Life in 2022. His greatest satisfaction comes from teaching people more efficient ways to reach their goals, whether it’s owning a home, planning a vacation or preparing for retirement. His advice? “Develop a single, solid financial plan encompassing all areas of life and remember to love people and use things instead of loving things and using people.”
Matt and his wife, Christee, have called Lake St. Louis, Missouri, home for over two decades. Matt is the proud father of four children: Kyle, Hannah, Blake and Grant. When he’s not leading Mortgage Free Life, he enjoys sushi dinners and early morning workouts with Christee. He’s also passionate about his ministry, Kuvnyl, which teaches inner-city kids how to bow hunt. “It’s the most rewarding part of my life after my kids and relationship with Jesus,” he said.
